creamy frozen hot chocolate recipe - featured image

A quick and easy creamy frozen hot chocolate made with just three ingredients, perfect for a refreshing chocolatey treat any time of year.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk (can substitute almond or oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) chocolate syrup (recommend Hershey’s or Ghirardelli)
  • 1 cup (about 150 g) ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of cold whole milk into the blender.
  2. Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) of chocolate syrup to the blender.
  3. Add 1 cup (about 150 g) of fresh ice cubes.
  4. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and creamy with no large ice chunks.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more chocolate syrup if desired, then blend briefly again.
  6. Serve immediately in a glass or mug.

Notes

Use cold milk straight from the fridge for best chill. Fresh ice cubes are preferred to avoid freezer flavors. If blender struggles, pulse before blending fully. Avoid over-blending to keep icy chill. For extra smoothness, warm chocolate syrup slightly before blending. Store leftovers in fridge up to 24 hours and stir or re-blend before serving. Avoid freezing leftovers.
