A quick and easy recipe for crispy salmon with a sweet-savory honey garlic glaze, cooked perfectly in an air fryer for a delicious weeknight meal.

  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (about 6 ounces / 170 grams each)
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or local preferred)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Salt, to season
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper. (~5 minutes)
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and lemon juice until smooth. Set aside. (~3 minutes)
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  4. Brush the skin side of the salmon lightly with olive oil to help with crisping. (~1 minute)
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook for 7-8 minutes, depending on thickness, until salmon flakes easily but remains juicy inside.
  6. Brush the honey garlic glaze generously over the salmon. Air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the glaze and get a sticky finish.
  7. Carefully remove the salmon with a spatula and let it rest for 2 minutes to lock in the juices. Garnish with fresh parsley or a squeeze of lemon if desired.

Notes

Pat salmon dry thoroughly for crispy skin. Preheat air fryer before cooking. Brush oil only on skin side. Use skin-on fillets for best crispness. Apply glaze towards the end to prevent burning. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. If salmon is thicker than 1 inch, add 1-2 minutes to cooking time. Leftovers can be refrigerated up to 2 days and reheated gently.
