Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets, skin-on (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, and lime juice until smooth. Taste and adjust the spice level if needed.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, Parmesan cheese, and parsley until evenly combined.
  4. Heat your skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Transfer the salmon fillets to an oven-safe dish if your skillet isn’t oven-safe. Spread an even layer of bang bang sauce over the top of each fillet.
  6. Spoon the panko mixture over the sauce-covered salmon, gently pressing it down to adhere.
  7. Place the dish under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crispy. Keep a close eye to prevent burning!

Notes

[‘Make sure your skillet is hot before adding the salmon to get a beautifully crispy skin.’, ‘Don’t walk away while broiling! The topping can go from golden to burnt in seconds.’, ‘Taste the bang bang sauce before using it and adjust the sweetness or spice level according to your preferences.’, ‘Toss the panko with melted butter thoroughly to ensure even browning under the broiler.’, ‘If you prefer skinless salmon, you can still achieve a crispy edge by searing it carefully and flipping it less often.’]
