These Crispy Churro Cruffins are a quick and easy homemade cinnamon sugar treat with crispy edges and soft, flaky layers inside, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package refrigerated croissant dough
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Non-stick cooking spray or butter for greasing muffin tin

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease muffin tin with non-stick spray or softened butter.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar with 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon and stir well.
  3. Unroll refrigerated croissant dough on a clean surface. Separate triangles and roll each into a 12-inch long strip.
  4. Brush melted butter over each strip, then sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar mixture.
  5. Starting at the wide end, roll dough tightly into a coil and place seam side down into muffin cups.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown and crispy on edges, checking after 15 minutes to avoid burning.
  7. Immediately brush cruffins with more melted butter and coat again with cinnamon sugar.
  8. Cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a cooling rack to keep edges crispy. If cinnamon sugar clumps, stir before coating. Roll dough tightly but not too tight to maintain flaky layers. For dairy-free, substitute butter with plant-based alternatives. Reheat in oven to refresh crispiness; avoid microwave.
