A quick, kid-approved Halloween dinner featuring hot dogs wrapped in crispy crescent roll dough with mustard eyes for a fun and festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Hot dogs (regular beef or pork, or turkey/vegan alternatives)
  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping
  • Baking spray or butter (to grease baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with baking spray or melted butter.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Slice dough into 1/4-inch (about 0.6 cm) wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  3. Wrap each hot dog loosely with dough strips, leaving gaps so the hot dog peeks through. Leave one end uncovered for the ‘face’.
  4. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Use a toothpick or knife tip to dot two small spots of yellow mustard near the ‘face’ end to create eyes.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Use cold dough straight from the fridge for easier slicing. Wrap dough loosely to allow puffing and crispiness. Apply mustard eyes after baking when mummies are warm but not hot to prevent running. Parchment paper prevents sticking and eases cleanup. Can be made ahead and refrigerated; add mustard eyes before serving. Air fryer cooking option: 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
