A quick and easy baked salmon recipe featuring a sticky-sweet honey garlic glaze paired with perfectly roasted broccoli, ideal for a wholesome weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz / 170 g each), fresh or thawed, skin-on or off
  • 4 cups broccoli florets (about 300 g), fresh, washed and trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or wildflower preferred)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided (extra virgin recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt, to taste (kosher or sea salt preferred)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Add red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Toss broccoli florets with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Spread evenly on the baking sheet, leaving space for salmon.
  4. Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet next to broccoli. Brush each fillet generously with the honey garlic glaze.
  5. Bake for 15–18 minutes until salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork, and broccoli is tender with crisp edges. Optionally, spoon extra glaze over salmon halfway through baking.
  6. Check doneness by gently pressing the center of salmon with a fork; it should flake but remain moist.
  7. Serve immediately, spooning any pan juices over salmon and broccoli. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice on top.

Notes

If broccoli is crowded on the pan, roast separately for better crispness. Avoid opening the oven door frequently to maintain consistent heat. Let salmon rest a few minutes after baking to keep it moist. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos. Fresh garlic is preferred but garlic powder can be used as a substitute (1 tsp instead of 3 cloves).
