Easy Cheesy Mini Pizza Bagels Recipe Perfect for Kids Snack Time

A quick and easy snack featuring mini bagels topped with tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for kids and customizable to your taste.

Ingredients

  • Mini Bagels – plain or everything bagels (preferably plain)
  • Tomato Sauce – about 1/3 cup (80 ml)
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese – 1 to 1 1/2 cups (100-150 g)
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese (optional) – 2 tablespoons (15 g)
  • Dried Italian Seasoning – 1 teaspoon
  • Olive Oil – 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
  • Salt and Pepper – a pinch
  • Optional Toppings – chopped pepperoni, sliced olives, diced bell peppers, mini mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the mini bagels in half horizontally and lay them cut side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Brush each bagel half lightly with olive oil.
  4. Spread about 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of tomato sauce on each bagel half evenly.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of dried Italian seasoning and a tiny bit of salt and pepper over the sauce.
  6. Top each bagel with 2 tablespoons (20-25 g) of shredded mozzarella cheese and add any optional toppings.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle a little grated Parmesan over the cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly with lightly golden edges.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute or two.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

Brush bagels with olive oil to keep them crispy and prevent sogginess. Keep sauce layer thin to avoid soggy bagels. Use freshly shredded mozzarella for better melt and texture. Watch oven closely to prevent cheese from burning. Do not overcrowd baking sheet for even baking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in oven or toaster oven for best crispness.
