A quick and simple recipe for chewy, tender cookies made with just three pantry staples: sweetened condensed milk, all-purpose flour, and butter. Perfect for a last-minute sweet treat or homemade gift.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk (about 300 ml)
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (190 grams)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (113 grams), softened
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: Pinch of salt
  • Optional: ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped toasted pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter using a hand mixer or wooden spoon until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and mix until fully combined and smooth.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and stir gently until no dry flour remains. Avoid overmixing.
  5. If using, add vanilla extract or a pinch of salt and stir briefly to incorporate.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between cookies.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers remain soft.
  8. Remove from oven and cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use softened butter at room temperature for best results. Avoid overmixing after adding flour to keep cookies tender. Chill dough for 15 minutes if too sticky. Watch baking time closely to keep cookies chewy, not crispy. Optional add-ins like vanilla, salt, chocolate chips, or nuts can enhance flavor and texture.
