Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Chop any vegetables and proteins, if needed, and measure out all your seasonings and liquids.
  2. Layer the ingredients: Place your protein at the bottom of the Crockpot. Add the vegetables on top, followed by the canned goods and seasonings.
  3. Add liquid: Pour in broth, water, or tomato sauce to ensure there’s enough moisture for cooking.
  4. Set your Crockpot: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, depending on your schedule.
  5. Check halfway: If you’re home, give everything a gentle stir to ensure even cooking.
  6. Finish with extras: About 30 minutes before serving, add grains, pasta, or cheese for the final touch.
  7. Serve and enjoy: Spoon everything onto plates or bowls and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking. For thinner sauce, add a splash of water or broth.
