Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 cups mixed greens or lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite blend)
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • Pickles or pickled jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined. Divide into four equal portions and shape into patties about 1-inch thick.
  2. Heat olive oil in a small frying pan over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft, golden, and caramelized (about 15 minutes). Reduce heat if needed to prevent burning. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and cooled caramelized onions. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. For medium, aim for an internal temperature of 160°F.
  5. Start with a base of mixed greens in each bowl. Arrange cherry tomatoes, shredded cheese, diced avocado, and pickles or jalapeños (if using) around the greens. Place a cooked burger patty in the center of each bowl.
  6. Drizzle a generous spoonful of caramelized onion aioli over the burger patty and toppings. Serve immediately and enjoy!
