Fresh Red White Blue Fruit Skewers with Easy Honey Yogurt Dip

A quick and easy recipe featuring fresh berries and melon threaded on skewers, served with a sweet honey yogurt dip. Perfect for summer celebrations and healthy snacking.

Ingredients

  • Fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries, washed and dried
  • Honeydew melon, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Cantaloupe, cubed (optional)
  • Plain Greek yogurt (1 cup)
  • Honey (2 tablespoons)
  • Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon, optional)
  • Wooden skewers, about 6 inches long

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries and blueberries carefully. Hull and halve the strawberries, aiming for uniform pieces so they thread nicely. Cube the honeydew melon into roughly 1-inch chunks. Optionally, cube cantaloupe or watermelon the same way.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine 1 cup plain Greek yogurt with 2 tablespoons honey and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well blended. Taste and add a little extra honey if desired.
  3. Take a wooden skewer and thread the fruit in red-white-blue order — for example, a strawberry half (red), a melon cube (white), and a few blueberries (blue). Repeat the pattern until the skewer is full but leaves space at the end for easy handling. Aim for about 3-4 pieces of fruit per skewer.
  4. Lay the finished skewers on a serving platter. Place the honey yogurt dip in a small bowl alongside for dipping. Chill slightly if preferred, or serve at room temperature.
  5. If the dip feels too thick, stir in a teaspoon of milk to loosen it. For extra flair, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or lemon zest on the dip before serving.

Notes

Use firm, ripe fruit for best texture. Pat berries dry to avoid soggy skewers. Assemble skewers just before serving for freshness. Dip can be loosened with milk if too thick. Variations include swapping fruits or making the dip vegan with dairy-free yogurt and maple syrup.
