A refreshing and lightly sweetened sparkling berry lemonade punch perfect for summer gatherings, combining fresh berries, lemon juice, and sparkling water for a bubbly, tart, and sweet drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 large fresh lemons, juiced (about 1 cup / 240 ml lemon juice)
  • 2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (can substitute honey or agave syrup)
  • 4 cups cold sparkling water (960 ml)
  • 2 cups cold still water (480 ml)
  • A small handful fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Roll the lemons on the counter with your palm to loosen the juice. Cut them in half and juice until you have about 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lemon juice (about 5 minutes).
  2. Place the mixed fresh berries in the pitcher or a large bowl. Using a wooden muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press the berries 15-20 times to release their juices without crushing them into mush (about 3 minutes).
  3. Pour the granulated sugar and fresh lemon juice over the muddled berries. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely (2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the cold still water and sparkling water to the pitcher. Stir gently to combine all ingredients, keeping as much fizz as possible (1-2 minutes).
  5. Toss in plenty of ice cubes and a handful of fresh mint leaves for aroma and garnish. Stir lightly to chill the punch evenly (about 1 minute).
  6. Serve immediately, pouring into glasses with some berries and mint leaves floating on top. Optionally strain through a fine mesh sieve for a smoother punch.

Notes

Muddle berries gently to avoid a jammy texture. Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Add sparkling water last and stir gently to preserve fizz. Add ice just before serving to avoid dilution. Mint leaves add a refreshing aroma. Can be made alcoholic by adding vodka, gin, or rum. Store punch in fridge up to 24 hours; add sparkling water and ice just before serving.
