A quick and nutritious overnight oats recipe combining creamy Greek yogurt, rolled oats, chia seeds, and fresh or frozen berries for a high-protein, energizing breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats (45 g)
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (120 g), full-fat or low-fat
  • ½ cup milk (120 ml), any kind (dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen mixed berries (about 75 g)
  • Optional toppings: sliced almonds, flaxseeds, or a sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Measure ½ cup (45 g) of old-fashioned rolled oats into a mixing bowl or mason jar.
  2. Add ½ cup (120 g) of plain Greek yogurt and ½ cup (120 ml) of your chosen milk.
  3. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds.
  4. Drizzle 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold in ½ cup (75 g) of fresh or frozen mixed berries.
  6. Stir everything together until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  8. Before eating, stir the oats and add optional toppings like sliced almonds or cinnamon.

Notes

Use old-fashioned rolled oats for best texture. Chia seeds add thickness and fiber but are optional. Adjust milk amount for preferred consistency. Frozen berries thaw overnight and add natural sweetness. Store in airtight containers up to 4 days. Stir before serving. For dairy-free, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt and milk with plant-based milk.
