A creamy, sweet, and smoky ice cream featuring rich maple syrup swirls and crunchy candied turkey bacon, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 68 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Optional: cinnamon
  • Optional: chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside to cool.
  2. Crumble the cooled turkey bacon into small pieces. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet over medium heat, then add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly. Add the crumbled turkey bacon and stir to coat. Spread the candied turkey bacon on parchment paper to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, maple syrup, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. If using an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into the machine and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually around 20-25 minutes).
  5. Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, fold in the candied turkey bacon using a spatula. Be gentle to ensure the bacon pieces are evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  7. If using the no-churn method, pour the ice cream base into a shallow container. Freeze for 30 minutes, then stir with a spatula to break up ice crystals. Repeat this process every 30 minutes for 3-4 hours, folding in the candied turkey bacon during the last stir.
