A festive and easy-to-assemble Halloween charcuterie board featuring a whimsical mummy brie centerpiece, assorted cured meats, fresh fruits, crunchy nuts, and spooky treats perfect for any party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 round brie cheese (8 oz / 225 g)
  • 1 sheet refrigerated crescent roll dough (or puff pastry for extra flakiness)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, room temperature)
  • Black peppercorns or cloves (for mummy eyes)
  • Assorted cured meats (salami, prosciutto, and pepperoni – about 6 oz / 170 g total)
  • Crackers and artisan bread slices
  • Fresh fruit (red grapes, apple slices, and blackberries)
  • Candied pecans (homemade or store-bought)
  • Olives (black or green, pitted)
  • Miniature pumpkins or edible flowers for decoration (optional)
  • Honey or fig jam (a small bowl for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unwrap the brie and place it in the center of the parchment. Optionally, trim the top rind slightly for a gooier texture after baking.
  3. Roll out the crescent dough sheet and cut into thin strips about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) wide. Wrap these strips around the brie like mummy bandages, leaving small gaps for eyes.
  4. Press two black peppercorns or cloves into the gaps to create spooky eyes.
  5. Beat the egg and lightly brush over the dough to give it a golden, shiny finish when baked.
  6. Place the wrapped brie on the baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until the dough is golden and puffed, and the cheese inside is melty.
  7. While baking, arrange the cured meats, crackers, and fresh fruit on your serving platter. Add small bowls of olives, honey or fig jam, and candied pecans around for easy grabbing.
  8. When the mummy brie comes out of the oven, transfer it gently to the center of the board. Add any decorative touches like mini pumpkins or edible flowers for extra Halloween flair.
  9. Serve warm, encouraging guests to tear off pieces of the dough and scoop creamy brie with crackers or fruit slices.

Notes

If dough feels sticky, chill before wrapping. Watch brie closely in last 5 minutes to prevent over-browning. Egg wash gives golden sheen; olive oil can be used for dairy-free option. Assemble board while brie bakes to save time. Keep candied pecans crunchy by adding just before serving. Store leftovers in airtight container and reheat gently.
