A charming and slightly spooky chocolate bark featuring glossy dark chocolate, delicate white chocolate spider web swirls, and pastel Halloween sprinkles. Easy to make and perfect for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz (280 g) dark chocolate chips or bars
  • 6 oz (170 g) white chocolate chips or bars
  • 1/3 cup (50 g) pastel Halloween sprinkles
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) vegetable or coconut oil
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Chop dark chocolate into even pieces if using bars. Melt in microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, or use a double boiler. Add 1 tablespoon of oil halfway through melting for smooth texture and shine.
  3. Pour and spread melted dark chocolate evenly onto the lined sheet about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick. Let rest for a couple of minutes but do not let it harden completely.
  4. Melt white chocolate in a separate bowl using the same method. Transfer to a small piping bag or zip-top bag and snip a tiny corner to create a narrow opening.
  5. Pipe concentric circles or spirals of white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer while still soft.
  6. Using a toothpick or skewer, drag lines from the center outward to the edges to create spider web patterns.
  7. Sprinkle pastel Halloween sprinkles generously over the bark before the chocolate sets.
  8. Place the baking sheet in the fridge for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is firm and breaks easily.
  9. Break the bark into irregular pieces and serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Use good quality chocolate like Ghirardelli or Lindt for best melting and flavor. Avoid vanilla-flavored coatings or candy melts for the white chocolate. If white chocolate hardens too fast while piping, gently warm it again in short bursts. Add sprinkles while chocolate is still tacky for best adhesion. Refrigerate to set but avoid freezing to maintain shine and texture. For dairy-free or vegan versions, use vegan chocolate alternatives and check sprinkles for gluten content.
