Refreshing Spring Margarita - featured image

A bright, lively margarita featuring fresh lime and orange juice with a touch of agave syrup and tequila blanco, perfect for spring and beyond.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (e.g., Patrón Silver)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice (about 1 large lime, freshly squeezed)
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) Fresh Orange Juice
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) Agave Syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Orange Zest from 1/2 orange (for garnish and extra zing)
  • Coarse Salt (for rimming the glass)
  • Ice Cubes (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass by running a lime wedge around the rim, then dip the rim into coarse salt to coat evenly. Set aside.
  2. Squeeze fresh lime juice (about 1 oz or 30 ml) and fresh orange juice (0.5 oz or 15 ml). Strain if desired to avoid pulp.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz (60 ml) tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice, and 0.5 oz (15 ml) agave syrup. Add a handful of ice cubes.
  4. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels cold.
  5. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with a twist of orange zest by rolling it between your fingers near the glass to release oils, then drop it into the drink.

Notes

Use fresh citrus juice for best flavor; avoid bottled juice. Do not over-shake to prevent watering down. Use flaky sea salt for a delicate crunch on the rim. Measure ingredients for consistent balance. Optional variations include adding jalapeño slices for spice, muddling herbs for freshness, or making a frozen version by blending with ice.
