Instructions

  1. Measure 1 cup (190 grams) of long-grain white rice and rinse under cold water until it runs mostly clear (optional).
  2. Add the rinsed rice to the Instant Pot insert. Pour in 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) of water, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon olive oil or melted butter. Gently stir to combine.
  3. Secure the lid and set the valve to sealing. Select the ‘Pressure Cook’ or ‘Manual’ mode on high pressure and set the timer for 4 minutes.
  4. When cooking finishes, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes.
  5. Carefully open the lid and use a fork or silicone spatula to fluff the rice gently. Serve immediately or keep warm for up to 30 minutes.
